Welcome to the inaugural blog on Glass Avenue Photography.

Today's post is about humble beginnings.

A bit of backstory, my education is in acoustic and electric engineering, my career experience is in audio visual sales and service, but my passion for creativity began at a much younger age.

Before Gi Joe, and Transformers were live action movies, and when the 1980s Lionel Richie Afro-mullet was still in fashion. I was 3 years old and my parents gave me a Mickey-matic camera by Kodak.

I took pictures of everything, mostly out of focus and ill composed, but they had given me the key to capturing the universe.

Fast forward through the awkward elementary school years... Uh, and the awkward high school years. And I was a man forged in fire and combat... I mean, I was a man built by the gods.... Where was I going with this? Oh yeah...

I started my photography career the same way many people do. In a corporate owned family photo studio.

Capturing memories and special moments for hundreds of families.

But the work left me far from satisfied, I wanted to create beauty and art and expression. And truthfully that is impossible to do in a 12'x12' room, with lighting that never changes, the same 4 backgrounds for the next 100+ families, and then... you're faced with the crying baby. 

So what did I do?

I got my first "professional" camera, and I worked hard learning not just to capture, but to create. 
Capturing a moment means, you just have to be there, but creating... you can make it anything you want it to be.

Now my creative passion is constantly being renewed and needless to say, my abilities have surpassed the point and shoot snap-shots of a family photo studio.
Its been said that a picture is worth a thousand words... well
everyone has a unique story and my goal is to help you tell yours.
